Effective Date: March 25, 2026
Oddity is a logic puzzle game. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We designed Oddity to collect the minimum data necessary to provide a good gameplay experience.
Cookies and Local Storage. We use cookies and browser local storage to remember your puzzle progress, daily puzzle state, streak data, and preferences (such as your selected difficulty level). These are functional cookies essential to gameplay — we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Timezone / Local Time. We detect your local time to determine when your daily puzzle resets. This information is processed in your browser and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
No Account Data. Oddity does not currently require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or other personal identifiers.
No Analytics (Currently). As of the effective date, Oddity does not use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent before collecting such data.
The functional cookies and local storage data we set are used solely to provide core game features: saving your progress on the current puzzle, tracking your daily puzzle completion and streaks, delivering the correct daily puzzle based on your local date, and remembering your display and difficulty preferences.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. We do not display advertisements. No personal data is transmitted to our servers; all gameplay state is stored locally in your browser.
Because your data is stored locally in your browser via cookies and local storage, you have full control over it. You can clear your Oddity data at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and site data for the Oddity domain. Please note that doing so will reset your puzzle progress and streak history.
Oddity does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because no personal information is collected from any user, the game is suitable for players of all ages.
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under data protection laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA) to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because Oddity stores data only in your browser and does not collect personal data on our servers, these rights are effectively self-service: you can view and delete your data through your browser settings at any time.
If you have questions about your data or believe we have inadvertently collected information about you, please contact us using the information in Section 10.
The following summarizes the cookies and local storage keys Oddity may set:
oddity_uid (cookie) — A randomly generated anonymous identifier used to track your puzzle completion progress on the server. Contains no personal information. Persists for 1 year.
oddity_help_seen (localStorage) — Remembers that you have dismissed the "How to Play" tutorial so it is not shown again on every visit.
oddity_cookie_ok (localStorage) — Remembers that you have dismissed the cookie notice banner.
Your local timezone offset is sent with puzzle requests so the server can deliver the correct daily puzzle for your date, but it is not stored in any cookie or local storage entry.
Note: Exact key names and durations may change as the product evolves. We will keep this section up to date.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. If we make material changes that affect how we handle personal data, we will provide prominent notice (such as a banner in the game).
